Eagles soaring in new season

Carson Wentz threw four touchdown passes on Jay Ajayi’s debut to outplay the Denver Broncos in an extravagant 51-23 win.
The Philadelphia Eagles made light work of breaking through a Denver defence, which has been hailed as one of the best in the league, although the Colorado team had lost five of their previous six games.
The Eagles are tipped for a Super Bowl appearance this season, their first since 2004. Philly have the best overall record halfway through the season, 8-1.

The 2016 second overall draft pick, Wentz, is coming off a record-breaking rookie season where he recorded the most pass completions by a rookie with 379. The 6ft 5in quarterback has already recorded 23 touchdown passes this season, seven more than the whole of last season.

British running back, Jay Ajayi, who was recently traded to the Eagles from the Miami Dolphins in exchange for a fourth round pick in next year’s draft, went on to score on a 46-yard run on his debut.

The Eagles went into this game trying to surround Wentz with talent, and they have been chasing their dream of a Super Bowl appearance by bringing in quality running backs in Ajayi and two time Super Bowl champion with the Patriots, LeGarrette Blount.

The Eagles have not won the title in the Super Bowl Era, with their last title coming in 1960.
