Declan Rice named in England squad for Euro 2020 Qualifiers

Declan Rice has been included in Gareth Southgate’s England squad for the upcoming Euro 2020 Qualifiers.

West Ham’s young midfielder has impressed in the Premier League this season and recently decided to commit his future to England over Republic of Ireland.

Ironically, Rice was named the Republic of Ireland’s Young Player of the Year on Tuesday despite his switch of allegiance.

Burnley goalkeeper Tom Heaton has also been included in Southgate’s 23-man squad following a flurry of exceptional performances since his return to action.

Elsewhere, youngsters Jadon Sancho, Ruben Loftus-Cheek, Trent Alexander-Arnold and Ben Chilwell have earned a call-up after impressive domestic performance.

Crystal Palace defender Aaron Wan-Bissaka has failed to break into the England squad despite some excellent performances in the Premier League this season.

Manchester United’s Jesse Lingard and Tottenham midfielder Harry Winks are absent from the squad through injury.
