Cricket World Cup 2019 Predicitions

With England hosting the Cricket World Cup for the first time in 20 years I believe they will win the prestigious tournament for the first time.

The Three Lions are currently the best ranked ODI nation in the world and with the likes of Joe Root, Ben Stokes, and Adil Rashid featuring for the side they are team no one is looking forward to facing.

England have excelled in 50-over cricket since the last World Cup four years ago, beating the likes of India, Australia, and Pakistan.

It must also be mentioned that England will boast a home advantage this summer where the crowd is bound to get behind Trevor Bayliss’ men.

The betting companies are also expecting England to secure the trophy with Sky Bet’s odds currently sitting at 9/4 for The Three Lions to secure the trophy with India (3/1) and Australia (11/2) not far behind.

But as we all know when all odds are in favour for England to win…they always seem to lose.

Along with the ups and downs of the World Cup there is one man who in my eyes is going to dominate the headlines, and that is Virat Kohli.

Kohli currently averages 59.51 runs in ODI cricket.

When Kohli gets going he is undoubtedly one of the greatest batsman in the game.

As for who the surprise team will be this summer I believe that Afghanistan will not necessarily compete for the trophy but they are certainly a side who can cause an upset with the bowling presence of Rashid Khan.

The Oval will host five games during the World Cup.

The competition starts May 30 at The Oval.
