Borough rout Uckfield in cup clash

Tweet Eastbourne Borough 6 AFC Uckfield Town 0 Eastbourne enjoyed an easy win against Uckfield Town in the Parafix Sussex Senior Challenge Cup at Priory Lane. Borough broke the deadlock on 19 minutes in strange circumstances when an attempted clearance rebounded off Harley Willard and past Matthew Dann in the Uckfield goal. Christmas Rail Works

Travelling home for Christmas will prove hectic for many students this year, as several Major routes in and out of London will be closed due to engineering works for ten days.
Lines from major stations such as Charing Cross, Waterloo East, Paddington, Cannon Street and London Bridge will be hit by this closure, which will last a total of 10 days from December 23rd to New Year’s Day.
The Gatwick and Heathrow Express respectively will face temporary closures, either from timetable revisions or altogether cancellations.

Southern Rail dispute – more train strikes?

Southern Rail staff are to strike again on Wednesday and Thursday this week after 18 months of disruption.
The rail company have claimed that most services will run normally. But there will be some alternations with some peak time hour services between Hastings and Ashford International not running. There will also be some cancellations at Eastbourne and Brighton.

Eastbourne among worst areas for air pollution

In a report on air pollution, the Royal College of Physicians found that Eastbourne is one of 18 cities with the worst levels.
It is believed however that this possible increase may be due to the fact that Eastbourne is in fact the fastest growing town in East Sussex, leading to an increase in road traffic, and due to it being next to one of the busiest shipping lanes in the world there is an increase in sulphur dioxide being emitted, that may be blowing into town.
