Buzz Radio DJ’s entertain the masses

Fresher week is almost over, or Welcome Back week for Hastings students without any freshers, and the students of Hastings all showed their support for Buzz Radio. The event took place at Hastings bar On The Rocks.

Four of the regular shows played an hour set of their signature music. The night started with Abbie Jarvis and Daisy Papworth from Thanks For The Memories playing their classic pop punk anthems that got the students remembering their teenage years (even if some of the second years are still teenagers).

Up next was Ross Moloney and Joely McEwan (yes, that’s me), with Whatever as they played music that ranged from pop to rock to rap from all different eras. As the place started to get busy rap ended their set with a bang.

Lorenzo Ottone entertained the crowd with his hour of The Sir’s Corner featuring funky sounds of the sixties to seventies as well as our time equivalents as the crowd got groovy.

Closing the night was one half of The Fushion Factory, Connor Gaffney, put on a show for those still going as he fused house and disco together to make the perfect ending.

After a capacity of around 40 students filling up the small area, Buzz Radio have the possibility of weekly shows and the radio’s manager, Liam Forkes has this to say to the DJ’s; “Thank you all for last night – it went super well and I really appreciate all the work you put in.”

Catch another Buzz Radio DJ set this Tuesday at Hasting’s Printworks.
