Bestival 2017 Review

The unique line-up for Bestival 2017 included headliners, The XX, Pet Shop Boys and A Tribe Called Quest. The festival was held from Thursday 7 September to Sunday 10 September and was an unforgettable event.

This year, Bestival moved to its brand-new location on the Lulworth Estate in Dorset; the announcement of the move came in December 2016 after having Bestival at Robin Hill on the Isle of Wight for over the past 10 years.

Personally, I had a bad start to Bestival; after forgetting half my tent, I then had to buy a very expensive £35 pop-up tent from the camping stall on site, but you have to look on the bright side and things got better from then…

Jamie T kicked off the festival’s first night with a brilliant performance at The Box stage, and at the Temple stage, Annie Mac was live for BBC Radio 1’s Takeover which hosted a variety of artists, including Ray BLK, High Contrast and Annie Mac herself.

On Friday, AJ Tracey, The XX and Kurupt FM performed across Bestival, Kurupt FM are best known for their comedy series, ‘People Just Do Nothing’ which is aired on BBC Three.

Saturday was the day festival goers had been waiting for with Rag’n’Bone Man on The Castle stage (main stage) performing his hit track ‘Human’, shortly followed by Dizzee Rascal and headliner, A Tribe Called Quest. Annie Mac returned to finish off the third night with a lively performance at the Temple stage.

The final day of the festival saw the Pet Shop Boys close an incredible and successful Bestival 2017. The best photo opportunity was next to the huge inflatable ‘Happy Kanye’ which had a secret bouncy castle inside and was just as amazing as it sounds.

The World’s Biggest Bouncy Castle and The World’s Biggest Confetti Cannon were at the festival throughout the long weekend and many took advantage of the rare opportunity to experience them. There was a range of food stalls and bars available throughout Bestival to fit everyone’s’ individual needs.
