Sri Lanka: 117 (Perera 27, Gunathilaka 21, Zampa 2-20, Stanlake 2-23)

Australia: 118/1 (Warner 60no, Smith 53no, Malinga 1-23, de Silva 0-18)

Australia romped to a successive T20 victory against Sri Lanka as the hosts won by nine wickets to take an unassailable 2-0 lead in the series.

Kusal Perera (27) and Danushka Gunathilaka (21) top-scored for the visitors in a miserly total of 117 as the Aussie bowlers ran through their batting order with Billy Stanlake, Pat Cummins, Ashton Agar and Adam Zampa all taking two wickets each.

In reply, Australia lost Aaron Finch (0) first ball but fellow opener David Warner backed up his hundred in Adelaide with a 60 not out as he along with Steve Smith (53*) saw the hosts through to the required total of 118.

The visitors won the toss and elected to bat but lost openers Kusal Mendis (1) and Gunathilaka in the powerplay.

Avishka Fernando (17) and Perera added 24 before the Sri Lankan top order crumbled under the stunning quick bowling of Stanlake and Cummins as they lost 22/4.

Agar and Zampa then applied pressure to rout out the remaining four Sri Lankan wickets for 35 runs.

The Australian run chase started poorly with Lasith Malinga removing Aaron Finch first-ball.

However, with such a small total to aim at Warner and Smith calmly knocked off the remaining runs with both batsmen reaching half-centuries in the process.

The victory for Australia means that they take a 2-0 lead in the series with one T20 still to play.
